Château-Figeac receives top St. Émilion classification status

Château-Figeac rises to the highest rank of the Bordelais appellation St. Émilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé A.

As communicated by the winery to Falstaff, the commission for the reorganisation of the classification of the wineries in the Bordelais appellation St. Émilion has finally promoted Château Figeac to the highest rank. Château Figeac is very grateful for this decision, which rewards years of work and confirms the strong identity of this wine. It is not least a recognition of the exceptional terroir and also of the outstanding wines that have been produced here in series after massive investments in recent years. For the owners, the Manancourt family, who have been watching over the development of this jewel since 1892, the award is also a call to continue with the same dynamism and verve.

The Manoncourt family and the entire team at the estate are paying special tribute to Thiery Manoncourt who spent decades doing everything he could to finally see his château "in the right place," by that he meant at the top of the appellation. It was he who shaped, nurtured and endowed the Château-Figeac of today with the spirit of innovation, uniqueness and authenticity. Falstaff congratulates the Grande Dame Marie-France Manoncourt, her daughters and the team for finally succeeding in making Thiery's lifelong dream a reality.
