Jamie Oliver launches Pasta Dreams in UK restaurant comeback

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is launching a pick-up and delivery Italian food venture called Pasta Dreams in London and Paris.

UK chef and cookbook author Jamie Oliver launched Pasta Dreams at midday UK time today.

"I’ve teamed up with @tasterkitchens to bring you next-level flavour-packed fresh pasta dishes, made using the top quality ingredients, delivered to your door," Oliver says in an Instagram post.

Fresh & filled pastas along with bakes, side dishes and a "lovely pudding" are on the menu. Pasta Dreams will be available on Uber Eats and other major delivery platforms in London and Paris, with more cities coming on board soon.

Pop-ups in Archer Street, Soho and at Rue Descombes in Paris will be open until January 2023.

Guest “dreamers” are also being sought, the winners of which will create a seasonal special to feature on the Pasta Dreams delivery menu. £1 from the sale of every collaboration dish will be donated to the charity Springboard, which works with young people in hospitality.

Pasta Dreams is Jamie Oliver's first venture back into the UK restaurant scene since his restaurant empire, which included 22 Jamie’s Italian outlets in Britain, collapsed in 2019.

Oliver made his name starring in his own TV show The Naked Chef and has also released a string of cookbooks and is a long-time campaigner for healthy school meals in the UK.

Just this week he called for all children living in households on universal credit to be given free school meals, according to the BBC. He is backing the 'Feed the Future' campaign for the free meals to be extended to around 800,000 more vulnerable children.
