New Scandic hotel opens in Frankfurt, Germany

Scandic Frankfurt Hafenpark is part of the new Hafenpark Quartier Frankfurt development.

In March 2023, Scandic´s newest and sixth hotel on the German market celebrated its opening in one of Frankfurt’s premium locations, close to the Main river and the European Central Bank. “Together with my fantastic Team, I am proud to open our doors to create world class hotel experiences for all our guests”, said Heiko Kain, General Manager of Scandic Frankfurt Hafenpark, at the opening.

The hotel is part of the new Hafenpark Quartier Frankfurt development, designed by Hamburg-based architect Hadi Teheran. The 505 rooms were designed with circularity in mind and as a continuation of the park outside its doors, with earthy colours and natural materials, moss-covered walls, lots of plants and parts of the room furnishings made from recycled materials. The interiors have a lifespan of up to 15 years and most materials can be reused or recycled during renovations, which is in line with Scandic´s vision of a completely circular hotel room. Additionally, 53 out of the 505 rooms are accessibility rooms, 20 are suitable for pets, 223 for people suffering from allergies. The hotel also offers a gym, sauna and relaxation area, and a 320-seat restaurant and bar with an open show kitchen.

The centrepiece of the four-star-hotel is the 600-square-metre ballroom, which is part of the meeting area, including 14 conference rooms with a maximum capacity of 570 people. “Our goal is to give guests as much freedom as possible to plan their events and make even unusual requests possible”, commented Heiko Kain.

Sustainability plays a central role at all Scandic hotels. Thus, the new hotel property aims to be certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolable and DGNB Gold for environmentally certified products and chemicals, the absence of single-use disposables, reduced water consumption, a climate-friendly menu and reduced food waste.

Price per double room incl. breakfast starting at €119; extra costs per dog per night € 20.
