The Botanist Gin wird in der traditionsreichen Bruichladdich Destillerie auf der schottischen Insel Islay hergestellt, destilliert und abgefüllt. Aus dieser Destillerie stammt auch die Kult-Whiskymarke Bruichladdich. Der köstliche und luxuriöse Botanist Gin besteht aus insgesamt 31 Kräutern, 22 davon kommen direkt von der Insel. Neben den neun klassischen Gin-Aromen, wie Schwertlilie, Zimtkassie und Koriandersamen, wird The Botanist Gin mit einer Vielzahl wild wachsender, duftender Kräuter verfeinert. Diese werden von Kräuterexperten auf den windumtosten Hügeln, dem Hochmoor und der Atlantikküste von Hand gesammelt. Dieser saisonbedingte und exotische Mix wird dann langsam „köchelnd“ in der kostbaren und weltweit einzigartigen Lomond-Kupferbrennblase „Ugly Betty“ destilliert. Die Herstellungsweise durch ein Niederdruckverfahren benötigt höchstes handwerkliches Geschick und viel Zeit – drei mal so lang wie übliche Destillationsprozesse. Classic nose that needs some time to develop. The palate reveals a tight body. The spiciness is increasingly rising. Medium finish.

Exciting mix of herbs, lemon and a soft juniper note. Minty freshness comes through on the palate, followed by a hint of sweetness. Long pepper is noticeable on the finish.
