Streetfoodguide 2023: The best in southern Switzerland

Foto beigestellt
The ‘Falstaff Streetfood Guide’ shows you the most outstanding places for innovative yet uncomplicated urban culinary delights in southern Switzerland. Whether you are looking for street food classics such as burgers, pizza and kebabs or crave international trend specialities such as sushi, ramen and bowls - these trendy eateries offer everything your ‘easy eating’ heart desires. The lively atmosphere is not the only reason why Soï (Thai for street) resembles a Thai street kitchen; the dishes are also hardly adapted to the European palate. You will look in vain for green curry and Phad Thai here: home-made spicy sausages ‘Sai Ua’ are grilled on charcoal, papaya salad ‘Som Tam’ is pounded in a mortar and aromatic soups are stirred. The dishes are intense: spicy, sour, salty, sweet and umami balance each other out, the plates are best combined and shared.

"Soï" is the Thai word for side street. In Thailand, there are often street kitchens serving gastronomic delicacies - and they provided the inspiration for this Geneva restaurant. Here you can savour delicacies from the grill, salads, mango sticky rice and more in an uncomplicated atmosphere.
