Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2023

Those who are not afraid of the late frost can now also produce wines in Lower Bavaria that have nothing to hide. But even those wines that were "only" commissioned in Straubing and produced in Rheinhessen by Frank Stumm and Torsten Klein need not shy away from the light. This year's collection is typically lighter in alcohol, but all the wines can still improve significantly with time and air. The noticeable residual sweetness suits the Bavarian heraldic animalistic best of all: "Leo" is our tip. At the very top is the "Monoceros", a real long-distance runner.
