The white wine »Monoceros« Chardonnay, vintage 2019 from the winery Weinhaus am Wißberg has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Slightly smoky on the nose, with a chalky coolness allied to ripe pear and apricots fruit. There's also a herbal savouriness of sage, fennel, vanilla. Voluminous yet elegant on the palate with a creamy texture underpinned by vital acidity. The juicy extract has salty popcorn edge and lingers long on the palate. Good ageing potential.
