The red wine Montebello IGT, vintage 2011 from the winery Badia a Coltibuono has been rated in 2017 by Othmar Kiem with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, Pugnitello , Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Canaiolo nero, Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear ruby with bright garnet rim. Very clear and open nose, rich aromas of raspberries and plums, fine savoury notes in the background. On the palate round and balanced, shows a lot of ripe berry fruit, vivid raspberry. Hearty tannin yet a fine structure. Vibrant sweet fruit in the finish.
