The red wine Monte Arso Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2022 from the winery Barone di Villagrande has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese from the region Sicily in Italy.
Bright, almost transparent ruby red. Finely drawn bouquet, with notes of fresh sour cherry and redcurrant, plus liquorice, marzipan and rose petal. Bright and clear on the palate, with invigorating acidity, bold fruit and a great flow through to the juicy finish.
