The franciacorta Edizione Franciacorta Rosé DOCG Extra Brut, vintage 2017 from the winery Barone Pizzini has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Pinot Nero, Chardonnay from the region Franciacorta in Italy.
Brilliant, bright pink with a persistent mousse. Toasted hazelnuts and bread crust on the nose, followed by cherries and a hint of raspberry cordial, with delicate floral notes. Juicy on the palate, with a delicate fruit texture and fine playfulness, opens up succulently, with an undertone of blood oranges and a clean finish.
More about the tastingPowerfully luminous, slightly brightening old rose. Finely drawn nose, opens on nuances of ripe cherries, cassis and hazelnuts, then nut butter and a hint of nougat. Sweeps through the palate, appears extremely light-footed, shows finesse and dancing acidity, animatingly tight-meshed in the finish, shows very good drinking flow.
