A rather shy nose only allows a gentle waft of black fruit, some smoke and an insinuation of plushness. The palate then fulfils this promise with a gorgeously velvety swish of dark fruit. Fine freshness is a counterweight while the tannins come across like starched, still crunchy, velvet. This has wonderful depth there is something generous and three-dimensional about this – and it will age beautifully.
