The red wine Boekenhoutskloof Syrah, vintage 2019 from the winery Boekenhoutskloof has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Franschhoek
Stone, crushed blackberry, smoke, bacon and tapenade hit the nose with unmistakeable intent. The palate only amplifies the super-smokiness, the aromatic charge of Syrah. The tannins are fine, dense and very juicy, aided by fine freshness. The fruit is dark, brooding, aromatic and oh so juicy, oh so generous, oh so pure. This is resonant, intense but by no means without elegance. Rather gorgeous.
