Bright ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Opens with slightly earthy notes of mushrooms, then fine dark cherry, some raspberry. Juicy on the palate, shows lots of ripe cherry fruit, opens with grippy tannins, compact, then becomes somewhat rough on the finish, dries slightly.
