The red wine Il Picchio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2015 from the winery Castello di Querceto has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Canaiolo nero, Colorino from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Deep dark ruby with a slight purple tinge. Very compact nose, tobacco and soot, followed by elderberries and plums. The palate is full-bodied, lots of blackberry, some cassis, taut tannins and lots of drive.
