The red wine La Corte Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2020 from the winery Castello di Querceto has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright ruby with a slight garnet sheen. Very fragrant on the nose, with notes of fresh cherries, roses and pomegranate, with a hint of cranberry. Textured and gripping on the palate, opens with hearty, well-integrated tannins, then a long, grippy finish.
More about the tastingRich ruby red with nuances of purple. Compact nose with notes of marzipan, eucalyptus and a touch of blueberry in the background. On the palate, tobacco and some vegetal notes, hints of dried tomato, powerful, grippy tannins, nice tension with balanced acidity and a persistent finish. Definite ageing potential for the future.
