Tasting Notes
Dark ruby-garnet in colour. Floral nuances, fresh wild berries, citrus zest and hints of sour cherries on the nose, as well as violets and mint. Firm, almost steely tannins are tightly woven on the palate around the core of fresh, dark berries. There's a herbal-spicy aftertaste, and certain ageing potential. Firm, but already gluggable. (ageing +40).
More about the tastingDeep dark ruby, bright reflections. Fine dark berry fruit on the nose, subtle floral nuances, delicate oak savouriness, mineral notes. Ripe, sweet tannins on the palate, multi-layered savouriness, silky body, very balanced and harmonious, yet powerful with a velvety texture. Lafleur connoisseurs compare the 2005 with the legendary 1949. Comparisons have also been made with very great Richbourgs in view of the incredible quality. Great future with certain ageing potential, a real luxury wine.
