Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in colour with a broad watery rim. On the nose, delicately smoky aromas alongside spicy dark berry confit, fine dried plum notes, and a balsamic spice. The palate is full-bodied, with distinctive tannins that appear slightly rough, sweet berry fruit, with red berry nuances, hints of currant, lemony, with subtle caramel on the finish, an elegant food wine with the potential for further ageing. Shows everything that the Palmer completely lacked this time, a Bordeaux icon and definitely one, if not the wine of the 1983 vintage. drink/store +20.
