Tasting Notes
Intense carmine red, ochre hues, brightening on the rim. Initial notes of volatile acidity typical of its age, which quickly dissipate, are followed by notes of berry fruit, a hint of sun-drenched forest floor, oak, fantastic spices, some nougat, beauty and personality marked by the furrows of age. A fine sweetness on the palate, red fruit nuances, cherry conserves, some black truffles and currants, delicate tannins, a lovely freshness, which gives the wine a liveliness, also persistent, a tangible testimony to the quality of the terroir over 75 years. Of course, it has also benefited from the magnum format, of which there are probably not too many left in circulation. (Magnum, drink).
