The red wine Barbera d’Alba DOCG Vigna Francia, vintage 2020 from the winery Conterno Giacomo has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Barbera from the region Piedmont in Italy.
Ruby red with purple reflections. The nose is intense with clear sweet notes of cherry, redcurrant, raspberry and wild strawberry. On the palate, it shows good structure, softness and elegance and picks up the fruit with a slight hint of savouriness. A little additional ageing would certainly not hurt, but the wine is already interesting and accessible.
