The white wine Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, vintage 1998 from the winery Domaine Bonneau du Martray has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Cote de Beaune in France.
Light golden. A touch of heather honey, malty, almost a hint of premox, which tends to get lost in the glass, apple, some herbal candy, liquorice, with aeration also peach, and finally an almost truffle-like aroma. Silky attack, firm acidity, buttery smoothness in the midpalate, substantial in the transition to the finish, a mineral firm foundation. It is a stout and robust vintage type. In complexity and length, however, it is only medium-weight.
