The red wine Saumur-Champigny Vieilles Vignes, vintage 2016 from the winery Domaine Filliatreau has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Cabernet Franc from the region Loire Valley in France.
Stewed cranberry and leather, a faint hint of juniper and menthol on top. The palate is dense with dry tannins, still very young, the acidity begins subtly and then slowly increases, slightly mineral-tinged, a wine made for maturing in the bottle that should be given a few more years in the cellar.
