The red wine Kolos, vintage 2021 from the winery Edi Simčič Wine Estate has been rated in 2026 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Goriška Brda in Slovenia.
Dark, opaque ruby-garnet color with violet highlights and a delicate ochre rim. Nuances of heart cherries and strawberry jam, as well as dark wild berries; delicate notes of precious wood; a multifaceted, inviting bouquet. Powerful and juicy, with ripe cherries and ripe, well-integrated tannins; a delicate nougat note on the finish. Already harmonious, it shows good length and solid aging potential, with a mineral-salty aftertaste; it will benefit from further bottle aging.
