The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Degli Angeli DOCG, vintage 2012 from the winery La Gerla has been rated in 2018 by Othmar Kiem with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Intense, flint garnet red. Very appealing, open nose, of cranberry, blackberry and ripe cherry, graceful display, slightly resinous notes in the background. On the palate it is supple in the approach, shows beautifully ripened berry fruit, some tobacco, sturdy tannin, in the finish there is a beautiful play between ripe fruit and sweet texture.
