Deep dark shiny ruby with purple glints. Aromas of blueberry and mulberry, some dark cherry, tobacco and underbrush in the background. Shows on the palate grippy, hearty tannin characterises the wine in approach and course, substantial, but overall shows with little fruit and is quite closed.
