The white wine »Apocalypse Now!« Wolfsheim Am Holzweg Chardonnay Réserve trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Neverland Vineyards has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Rich, golden yellow in colour. Some quince on the multi-layered nose, with a woody, smoky, mineral trait. On the palate there's plenty of tension and drive thanks to the lively acidity and juicy fruit. It's densely woven and balanced, still very youthful. Some honey and orange peel touches emerge. Good structure and great length, it's great with food and will mature well.
