The red wine Opus One, vintage 2001 from the winery Opus One Winery has been rated in 2011 with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot from the region Napa Valley in United States.
Strong ruby garnet, delicate ochre rim, brighter around the edges. Delicate herbal spice, somewhat dusty on the nose, vegetal nuances, black pepper, truffles, some cassis and cranberries. Chocolaty texture on the palate, still somewhat dry tannins, juicy, some nougat on the finish, mineral, still needs some polish on the finish, should be allowed to mature for a few more years, has very good potential. Excellent food companion for spicy dishes.
