The red wine Santa Cecilia DOC, vintage 2015 from the winery Planeta has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Nero d’Avola from the region Sicily in Italy.
Rich, bright ruby with purple hues. Initially light liquorice notes, some cocoa, then lots of juicy dark cherry, plus blackberry and plum. Pithy, dense tannin which is very well integrated, unfolds with lots of ripe berry fruit, then accentuated spicy notes in the back, long finish.
