The sparkling wine »Grande Cuvée Sponti« Piesport Erzlay Riesling brut, vintage 2016 from the winery St. Laurentius Sekt GmbH has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Moselle in Germany.
Golden yellow in colour. A ripe, fruity aroma pours from the glass, with notes of freshly cooked stewed apples, beeswax and a little pepper. On the palate, this has a pleasant feel; with a fine mousse that is tempered by maturity, with a plump body and ripe acidity that is seamlessly combined with the body, the intense palate fruit, a tactile mineral layer and complex spicy finish giving the sparkling wine appeal and length.
