Tasting Notes
Dark inky black, opaque core, purple and ruby reflections. On the nose intense notes of black cherries, sour cherries, but also sweet blueberries, liquorice and chocolate, with classic Vieilles Vignes character, mineral and multi-faceted. On the palate very powerful and concentrated, a highly elegant, richly structured wine full of sweet black forest fruit flavours, precise, very well integrated tannins and finesse. Complex and multi layered, a very long finish with fine hints of dark chocolate, oranges and mineral nuances. Already very seductive, but should be allowed to spend the next fifteen years or more in the cellar. A long time but it will certainly be worth the wait. This was only the fifth Vinha Velha that Taylor's has released, the quantity is extremely limited: 3,600 bottles.
