Tasting Notes
Who is afraid of warm years? Hardly the Port elite. Aromas of tropical woods, black cherry and Assam pepper, allspice, poivre long. Short softness, firm acidity, then a gripping, dry but ripe tannin. With air contact, the port becomes increasingly floral and slate-spicy.
More about the tastingRipe wood patina, black cherry and assam pepper, savouriness, long pepper, amarena cherry, thyme, sage, patisserie, slate savouriness. With air contact, the wine also becomes floral and herbaceous: lemon balm, verbena and coriander. On the palate a short soft part is followed by firm acidity and grippy, dry but ripe and not harsh tannins. Powerful extract! Yet very tense and vital, lots of juice and defensive sweetness. Great Port from a less revered vintage.
