The red wine Viña Seña, vintage 2015 from the winery Viña Seña has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot from the region Aconcagua Valley in Chile.
Flinty, earthy reduction still hovers on the nose and is displayed against smooth, dark fruit. The palate is dense, smooth, rich, and caramelised plum melds with hints of chocolate and cocoa. Freshness counters this while fine tannins have become pliable and are en route to smoothness. The finish is a high tone of freshness amidst all of this bundled but elegant richness.
