The white wine Vintage Collection Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg Riesling Erstes Gewächs, vintage 1999 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Golden yellow in colour. Complex and almost fully developed aroma, curry powder and hibiscus, leather, and candied pineapple. Creamy onset, full of texture and smoothness, but then also with juice and nerve, it is subtle in its maturity and almost Burgundian in its structure. It is a complete amalgam of substance and spiciness, and with a subtly underpinned minerality.
