Very yeasty on the nose, after exposure to the air, red currant and floral notes are evident as well as toasty wood. On the palate, the wine has good volume, is smoothly layered, with elegant acidity, juiciness and tactile minerality vie for the leading role in the palate structure, and a pinch of phenolics adds additional tension.
