The red wine »Postillon« Schliengen trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Blankenhorn has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot from the region Baden in Germany.
Delicately fragrant with notes of cassis, cherry and blackberry, fine smoke, spices such as clove and tobacco. Elegant and with fine fruit acidity on the palate with good substance and depth. Beautiful red fruit, finely extracted, melted tannin, very successful.
More about the tastingOn the nose ripe blackcurrants, blackberry, some light tobacco leaf, chocolate and herbal spice. On the palate present ripe tannins albeit grippy, plum, dark fruit, underlaid with some mint. Powerful and elegant Bordeaux blend, good length.
