The white wine er Bechtolsheimer Petersberg Chardonnay trocken, im Barrique gereift, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Ernst Bretz has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Strong new wood (almost like smoked bacon), nutty and yeasty notes in the background. The palate is juicy and less woody than the nose would suggest, the concentrated acidity and noticeable extracted sweetness provide structure and length, the chalky minerality dominates the finish.
