The red wine Südtirol Pinot Nero Barthenau Vigna S. Urbano DOC, vintage 2008 from the winery J. Hofstätter has been rated in 2011 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Sparkling, dark ruby with garnet rim. Compact, multi-layered nose, opens with notes of cloves, lots of blackberry, wild raspberry, some candied orange peel in the background. Clear and straightforward on the palate, opens with polished, fine tannins, beautiful sweet melting, sings, very long finish.
