Almost a little animalistic when first smelt, before a fruitiness like cooked strawberries with freshly ground pepper emerges. On the palate the tannin structure is firm and slightly tart, but remains elegant, and the acidity is well integrated. A wine with rough edges, but they certainly suit it.
