The red wine Steinzeiler, vintage 2005 from the winery Weingut Kollwentz has been rated in 2012 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blaufränkisch from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Dark berry fruit on the nose, blackberries and cassis, a hint of citrus zest, underlaid with fine herbal spice. Compact, elegant, appears very fresh and youthful, the tannins are well integrated, needs a few more years in the bottle, dark minerality on the finish, a juicy food companion. Brilliantly resolved so-called small vintage.
