The red wine Bärnreiser Reserve, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingut Philipp Grassl has been rated in 2013 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Zweigelt, Merlot, Blaufränkisch from the region Carnuntum in Austria.
Deep dark ruby colour, opaque core, purple reflections. Intense dark berry fruit, fine oaky aroma, delicate nougat, underlaid with fine balsamic nuances, it opens up with air. Full-bodied, tightly meshed, complex, fruity, but not a hint of opulence, vivid well-integrated tannins, chocolaty length from the Merlot, ripe cherry on the finish, mineral, still very youthful, silky and long-lasting.
