The white wine Würzburg Pfaffenberg Traminer TBA, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Reiss has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Franconia in Germany.
Despite the raisin and botrytis notes, the varietal spice is still recognizable: rose and lychee, candied orange peel, clove and long pepper (Pippali). The palate has some viscosity, but above all has striking acidity, and a well-balanced, rich sweetness, and a finish of truly rousing spiciness almost reminiscent of musk, which is also mixed with smoky limestone shell notes.
