The red wine XUR, vintage 2015 from the winery Weingut Werner Achs has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laurent from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Deep dark ruby with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. An attractive bouquet of dark berry confit underpinned with a delicate floral note, some cherry fruit, and a hint of fine oak spice. The juicy palate shows good complexity with velvety, well-integrated tannins, subtle tobacco notes and black berry jam on the finish. Good ageing potential.
