The red wine XUR, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Werner Achs has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 94 - 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Blauer Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Deep ruby in colour with purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, there is a fine oak touch with herbal nuances, ripe black cherry, a touch of plum, and subtle nougat and orange zest. The full bodied, elegant palate has fine acidity, silky tannins, sweet cherry fruit and a chocolaty touch on the long, minerally finish. Polished and accessible, with certain ageing potential.
