The red wine XUR, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Werner Achs has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Zweigelt, St. Laurent from the region Lake Neusiedl in Austria.
Dark ruby garnet with an opaque core, purple reflections and subtle ochre rim. Ripe plums, dark wild berry jam, hints of liquorice and nougat on the nose. The palate is juicy and complex, both spiced and chocolaty and shows well-integrated tannins which linger. Roasted aromas show on the finish, will benefit from bottle ageing.
