The red wine Merlot Lebenslust, vintage 2018 from the winery Weinmanufaktur Follner has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Burgenland in Austria.
It has a dark ruby colour, with a black core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There are discreet aromas of herbs and orange zest, a well as a hint of ripe cherry, some liquorice, and hints of juniper berry. It is juicy, elegant, with a nice acidity, some blackberry nuances, vivid well-integrated tannins, lovely spiciness, and cassis on the finish. It is a good food wine, and it will benefit from further bottle ageing.
