The white wine Sommerach Katzenkopf Wilm Traminer trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Winzer Sommerach – Die Genossenschaft has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Traminer from the region Franconia in Germany.
On the nose it is intensely spicy and smoky, with aromas of lychee, rose petal and bread crust. It is a rather opulent, but it is also an obvious Gewürztraminer. On the palate the wine weaves power, spiciness and intense minerality into one another. It is a real Traminer. It will go well with a curry, or with Munster cheese, or nicely on its own.
