A New Chapter on Bornholm: Dunes Beach Camp Reopens with the Team Behind Kadeau
Former Eco Beach Camp reopens June 18, 2026, combining nature, comfort, and gastronomy on Balka Beach.
As summer approaches, one of Bornholm’s most beloved seaside destinations is entering a new chapter. Dunes Beach Camp—formerly known as Eco Beach Camp—will reopen on June 18, 2026, welcoming guests back to the scenic Balka Beach with a refreshed concept, enhanced facilities, and a continued focus on relaxed coastal living.
A New Name, a Renewed Experience
The transformation into Dunes Beach Camp marks more than just a name change. Visitors can expect brand-new glamping tents nestled directly in the dunes, alongside renovated bathroom facilities designed with comfort and thoughtful functionality in mind. The upgrades aim to elevate the overall guest experience while preserving the camp’s laid-back atmosphere close to the sea and surrounding nature.
Despite these improvements, the essence of the stay remains unchanged: a peaceful, sensory escape where guests wake to the sound of waves, sip morning coffee with their feet in the sand, and spend long summer days moving between beach, nature, and food.
Casual Dining with Michelin Roots
Alongside the camp, Restaurant Dunes will open for the season, serving both lunch and dinner. Operated by the team behind the Michelin-starred restaurant Kadeau, the restaurant continues its informal yet quality-driven approach to dining.
The menu features grilled dishes, seasonal vegetables from Kadeau’s own garden, and Mediterranean-inspired flavors. For 2026, the lunch offering expands to include lighter, more accessible dishes such as salads, tarts, and sandwiches—ideal for relaxed seaside dining.
A Shared Philosophy of Hospitality
Dunes Beach Camp and Restaurant Dunes are built on a unified vision: hospitality rooted in seasonality, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to Bornholm’s landscape. The ambition is to create a destination that feels both carefully considered and effortlessly relaxed—where quality and atmosphere coexist throughout the day.
“Renaming the beach camp as Dunes marks an exciting new chapter in our work here. I’m incredibly proud of the team and everything they’ve built. It’s just the beginning,” says Nicolai Nørregaard, head chef and co-owner.
Events, Pop-Ups, and Summer Evenings
Throughout the season, Restaurant Dunes will host a variety of informal events and pop-ups. From casual burger nights to special dinners featuring guest chefs—including talent from Kadeau Bornholm—the program is designed to bring energy and variety to the summer months. Announcements will be shared عبر the official channels of Kadeau and Dunes Beach Camp.
A Thoughtful Take on Coastal Luxury
Attention to detail remains central to the concept. From the integration of Tekla textiles to the focus on “responsible luxury,” the camp blends design, comfort, and sustainability in a subtle, cohesive way.
Dunes Beach Camp and Restaurant Dunes officially open on Thursday, June 18, 2026—ready to welcome guests for another vibrant summer on Bornholm.
