From 1 July, Copenhagen’s two-Michelin-starred Koan will offer its acclaimed Korean-Nordic tasting menu at lunchtime for the first time.

Copenhagen’s two-Michelin-starred Koan is set to introduce a new weekly lunch service from 1 July, giving guests the opportunity to experience chef Kristian Baumann’s acclaimed tasting menu during the daytime for the first time.

Available on the final opening day of each week – typically Fridays, and occasionally Saturdays – the new lunch offering will feature the restaurant’s signature 18-course menu, which seamlessly blends South Korean culinary traditions with Nordic ingredients and techniques.

The menu reflects Baumann’s dual Danish-Korean heritage and includes some of Koan’s most celebrated dishes. Highlights include the visually striking White Kimchi, crafted from woven kohlrabi and served in handcrafted bowls made from fragments of Ming and Qing dynasty porcelain, as well as the restaurant’s signature Roasted Seaweed Ice Cream with hazelnut oil and caviar.

Other standout creations include Pine Nut Tofu with lobster tartare and razor clams, Kkwabaegi, Koan’s refined take on the traditional Korean twisted doughnut, and The Flavours of Sundae, an elegant interpretation of Korea’s iconic blood sausage.

Reservations for lunch will be available between 12:00 and 12:30, with service concluding at 16:30. Given the restaurant’s limited capacity, demand is expected to be high.
