In Malmö, the wine scene is buzzing like never before: New, unique specialty bars are sprouting like mushrooms, each with its own carefully curated selection. L'enoteca
Located in the calm and cozy area of Gamla Väster right next door to a Czech beer pub, L'enoteca is a great choice for a glass of wine. Tucked away from Malmö’s main bustling streets, it caters to everyone, whether beginner or advanced enthusiast, offering both traditional and natural wines. With over ten years of experience, it was one of the first bars in the city to specialize solely in wine, making it a favorite among locals and traveling wine explorers alike.
In the summertime, they open their outdoor wine garden across the street from the main bar, where you can enjoy a smaller selection of house favorites by the glass (or an entire bottle if you prefer!). They also host an annual festival, allowing guests to explore wines from a wide range of producers.

Gustavino
If you have a penchant for Italian wines, look no further than Gustavino. Located at Stortorget, this lively wine bar has already become a go-to spot for many locals, offering a curated selection from all regions of Italy, with many available by the glass. Having trouble choosing from the handwritten chalkboard menu? Simply ask – the staff are excellent at finding a wine that matches your taste and mood, and they often have something perfect up their sleeve that isn’t listed.
With plenty of seating, you might expect it to be easy to find a spot, but the bar has become very popular thanks to its warm and inviting ambiance. The lively atmosphere perfectly complements the Italian experience. If you’re quick, you might even snag one of their few outdoor seats the offer in summer. While you’re there, don’t miss their popular porchetta sandwich, a local favorite that pairs wonderfully with your wine.

Julie Vinbar
On a charming side street near Lilla Torg, tucked between pretty townhouses and with two-starred Michelin restaurant Vollmers as a neighbor, this little gem of a wine bar has curated an impressive selection of natural and biodynamic wines – an approach that has earned them much praise from the industry. Owners Martin and Emma also run the popular destination Hörte Brygga and regularly host interesting wine events – if you’re lucky, you may even be able to book yourself in for one.
If you’re feeling a bit peckish, choose from their fine selection of cheeses and charcuterie, or go for something meaty from the rotisserie. Julie also features a small shop with cheeses and other select deli products, allowing you to take the experience home. With its thoughtful curation, welcoming atmosphere, and engaging events, Julie has become a key destination for wine lovers in Malmö.
Lilla Tabberaset
When they noticed a distinct lack of neighbourhood wine bars, Maria Borbos and Linn Hillgren took matters into their own hands and opened Lilla Tabberaset when they found a location they deemed perfect. With more than 50 rotating wines by the glass and an even larger selection by the bottle, it has become a popular spot for both wine lovers and locals in the Limhamn neighborhood, just a short bike ride from the city center. The ocean view from their terrace boasts beautiful sunsets, which alone makes it worth a visit; but the kitchen is also exceptional, creating a wholesome experience with wine at its center. On Sundays, they offer any open bottles at special prices, and if you’re lucky, you may also enjoy some live jazz. Lilla Tabberaset perfectly combines excellent wine, great food, and a scenic, welcoming atmosphere.
Lilla Vinbaren
Tiny premises don not necessarily mean a tiny selection – or a small amount of expertise! At Lilla Vinbaren, which opened in late 2024 near to the lively Lilla Torg area, sommeliers Anders Klevås, Cecilia Svärd and team not only happily share their knowledge but also make sure to help you find something that perfectly suits your taste. You can enjoy your selection outdoors or inside, where the interior is inspired by Roman bath houses. They also have a 17th-century cellar downstairs, offering a unique and atmospheric space to enjoy your glass.
If you want to try a bit of everything, opt for one of their wine flights, consisting of three different wines – either red, white, sparkling, or a mix. Frequent wine tastings are also hosted on-site, with announcements via social media and their website. Lilla Vinbaren combines expertise, a carefully curated selection, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a rising star among Malmö’s charming wine destinationsand well worth a visit.
Ready for another glass? Here's one last bonus tip.
BISe
Natural wines? Traditional wines? At BISe, named after the French word bisous (cheek kiss), it doesn’t matter — they simply love them all! Arvid Laban Falk, formerly the hotel manager at MJ’s, opened this gem in 2022 together with chef Ludvig Fredriksson, of the acclaimed lunch restaurant Saltimporten Canteen. We could go on about each individual’s résumé, but honestly, that would be superfluous. Simply book yourself a table and experience it yourself!
Both a wine bar but also a restaurant, their passion for wine, impressively curated cellar, and frequent wine events, make it a charming spot to enjoy a glass or two. Ask enthusiastically, and the staff will gladly take you through the kitchen downstairs to the wine cellar and help pick out the perfect pairing for your meal.
