The 30-hectare Graf Hardegg vineyard is part of the renowned Hardegg estate in the northernmost Weinviertel on the Pulkau. It has been managed organically since 2006. For estate owner and passionate farmer Maximilian Hardegg, the creation of a high-quality ecosystem, renaturation and species protection have always been at the heart of his work. He sees agriculture and biodiversity as a symbiosis. This holistic approach, in line with the motto "living biodiversity", is also evident at the winery. In the countless field and songbirds, insects and other beneficial insects - even wild bees. Wild herbs and legumes grow. Thanks to compost from the farm's own recycling system, the barren sandy soil with a high lime content is full of life and strengthens the vines.
The pioneering spirit and commitment of Maximilian Hardegg and his team have proven their worth, as the winery with its exclusive product range has been one of the top domestic wineries and pioneers for years. A new addition to the range of product innovations is a Brut Nature from Viognier, which, alongside the now legendary still wine "V" and and the "Forticus", which not only inspires insiders. The trend towards "no & low" was also recognised in good time and a globally unique grape kombucha was developed. The subtle alcohol- and sugar-free food companion has been on the market since 2024 under the resounding name "Embrizzo". The Roter Veltliner from a new vineyard has also been very well received.
The vineyards and cellars are located in the immediate vicinity of Seefeld Castle, the residence of the Hardegg family. The centrepiece is the 14-hectare, south-facing and airy single vineyard Ried Steinbügel - together with the strongly continental climate, provide the best conditions for wines with plenty of elegance, finesse and a fine acid backbone. Immediately adjacent is the baroque Hofkeller dating back to 1640, which is used for the maturation of top wines due to the perfect cellar climate and houses the in-house sparkling wine factory.
