Fine doggy dining opens in San Francisco
Bone Appétit in San Francisco caters exclusively for furry four-legged friends with an array of delectable treats.
Chicken and mushroom soup and a three-course tasting menu for $75 doesn't sound anything out of the ordinary. But if you take a closer look at the target group of the Bone Appétit Café, this quickly changes. That's because the new restaurant in San Francisco only caters for dogs, their two-legged owners go away empty-handed.
A look at the restaurant's display counter alone is enough to get canines salivating. The glass case is filled with elegant pastries, such as a rose-shaped cake with game heart and a doggie petit gâteau, modelled on the creations of the celebrated French pastry chef Cédric Grolet. However, butter and sugar have been replaced with cream from grass-fed animals and braised chicken. After the meal, there is water and special 'dogguccinos' to lap up.
The first Bone Appetit event was a huge success, according to an Instagram post. "Our main course was a grass fed steak tartare. Hand cut pasture raised grass fed fillet mignon, dressed with quail egg and organic broccoli sprouts."
